La Napoule
2003

In early 2003, I was awarded  a two-month-long artist residency at the La Napoule Art Foundation . The Foundation is in an old castle in Mandelieu-La Napoule, about 15 minutes by train from Cannes.

Spending two months on the Cote D"azur just making art, connecting with other artists, writers , and composers, eating  French food, drinking wine, mangling the language and traveling around the region was a completely over-the-top experience.

Well, not so different than life in West Oakland, but still.
