Your journal is yours. The primary reason for keeping a journal in this class is for you to develop a habit of responding visually and creatively to your personal life: the ideas, emotions, experiences you have are precious, fleeting, and absolutely worth recording and documenting. This will be different from any written journal you?ve ever kept, because you are trying to create a visual vocabulary for yourself. Obviously, you will want to write in here occasionally, but the objective is to create visual images, symbols, metaphors, and observations of your world.
